Why I created this blog

Hello guys! My name is Anna. I am starting this blog to tell you about a school in Columbia. I am not going to say too much about it in this post because I will be posting about it in a later post, but this is why I created the blog. The school's real name is not "A School of Hope", but this school is a school of hope to many children and their families. I think that after you read my posts and see the pictures you will agree. My goal is to raise as much prayer support and financial support as possible. I do not want to just keep the school open, I want to see it grow into what it could be if the funds were provided. I want to see thousands of people praying for this little school and everyone in it. I hope you will follow my blog and tell everyone you know about it! If you would like to donate to the school, feel free to contact me and I will be happy to tell you how! I hope you enjoy this blog and invite your friends to read it too! :)

What does education REALLY mean to these kids?

Forced to flee your home, forced to relocate in the slums of the city. Your parents are very poor and often gone at work. sometimes they may be abusive or neglectful. too poor to attend school, and often alone, you resort to the street life. If you are a boy, you are highly likely to join gangs and get hooked on drugs. If you are a girl, you are highly likely to run around in abusive relationships and may even become a teenage mom. You are always hungry and often go days without eating. Your only hope for the future is that of your parents. When you are older, you may work a low paying job; long hours with little pay just to get by. This is the story of so many children across the world! There is a school in Columbia though, a very special school run by very special people. Pastor Jimmy and his wife started a school for internal refugee children. Many just think that this school only provides an education, but it does so much more. You see, by having the chance to go to school, these kids are less likely to have as much time to roam the streets, which means they are less likely to get into as much trouble as they would if they were left alone all the time. By having this school, these children get an education that they would otherwise not be able to have. That means they can have hope for getting a good, solid job when they are older. By going to this school, these children get a meal every day of school. They may not have eaten at all that day if it was not for this meal. Jimmy and Farly also sometimes buy the children clothes or gifts; they sometimes take them to do fun things such as fly kites or go to the park. Pastor Jimmy and his wife not only feed, educate, love and care for these children, but they also teach them about God. This is the most important thing! Without this school, these children might never know about God. They teach them holiness which is more important than all the rest. They are helping children who have been abused. They are showing them what love is, and how God can heal their brokenness. So you see, this school is so much more than JUST an education, it is a chance for a better life. Sure, some of these children may end up on the streets, sure, some of these children may walk away, but if this school can change the life of just one child, if this school can save just one child from all of that, isn't it worth it? Please remember this school, the children and their families, and Pastor Jimmy and his family in your prayers.

The Story

Imagine if you were a child who was forced from your home. Forced to flee to a safe place and leave all that you know behind. You become a refugee in your own country. You are poor, hungry, and have no hope of an education. This is the case for so many kids. But a few of those children have a special hope. A few of those children will get to go to school, have a nice meal, and have opportunities that they would have never had before. How? Because of one man and his wife. One couple who have decided to be hope for these children. Their names are Jimmy and Farly. Pastor Jimmy and Farly are from the country of Columbia. They are a very Godly people who serve Jesus and give much. A wealthy donor asked Pastor Jimmy to start a school for these internal refugee children and promised to fund it. As time went on, the man was unable to continue funding it, so he told Pastor Jimmy to close the school. Many would have, but not Pastor Jimmy. Him and his wife get up very early and go to the school. They feed the children, give them clothing, and give them an education. Without them, these kids probably wouldn't have much if any of an education. Pastor Jimmy and Farly give their own time and money to help these kids! These kids wouldn't have near the opportunity without them. The school needs new uniforms, a computer, etc. as well as sponsors for the kids. But wait! Don't let that scare you away yet lol. I know that everything you give to Pastor Jimmy for the school will go to the school and be greatly appreciated. You do not have to sponsor a child, although that would be nice, but you can still help! Here are a few ways. Send a gift of any amount. for example,  $5 a month. It is only $5 and you probably won't miss it. It could help the school a lot though! If enough people gave $5 a month, it would go a long way! If you can, you could also sponsor a child. It is only $35 a month! Not much money at all. You could also give a one time gift of any amount. Or, you could advocate for him! Singers, foot ball players, and people like that are considered heroes many times, but for what? I consider Pastor Jimmy and Farly heroes! They give so much expecting nothing in return. It would have been so easy to close the school down but they didn't. How many people will consider giving any amount each month, or sponsoring a child, or giving a one time donation of any amount? Many places are "Christian" but do not practice holiness, or you may not trust them, but I assure you, Pastor Jimmy is a Godly Christian who could do so much more with the school. If you would like to help, please let me know! Please keep Pastor Jimmy and his family and the school in your prayers!
